Dear Dumb Diary
Dear Diary Diary (can adults become human)
My review is Dear Dumb Diary (can adults become human) the author is Jim Benton. The book is a fictional chapter book.
The summary is about a girl named Jamie Kelly. She goes to” Mackerel Middle School”. Jamie’s Aunt Carol (which is Jamie’s mom’s sister) has just come for a visit to Jamie and her parent’s house for a while and is planning on moving into the area where Jamie lives. Her Aunt Carol is not like most aunts. She doesn’t give you big kisses or ask you how your day is. A conversation with Aunt Carol is more like this. Aunt carol:“Hey Jamie.” Jamie“Hi Aunt Carol.” Aunt carol:“Did you know that you’re mom wet her pants when she was little.” Jamie: ”Wow! Mom” Aunt Carol stops it.” Aunt Carol: “How’s the weather” Jamie: “Good, but it’s still raining. Mom hates it.” Aunt Carol: “I bet that I know why you’re mom hates it because she doesn’t want to wet her pants again.” Then Jamie’s mom starts hitting aunt carol with a pillow.
The most memorable moment is when Jamie’s Aunt has got a job at “Mackerel Middle School” where Jamie goes to school. Jamie always goes to the principal’s office because her best friend Isabella always tells on her but then after a day there best friends again. It will be kind of weird because Jamie will always see her aunt there.
I think this book is just right for someone who likes tons of comedy, a bit of mystery and a lot of funniness!!
I give this book Dear Dumb Diary (can adults become human) a recommendation of excellent because it has funny pictures and funny words but it’s not a picture book it’s an awesome reading book. If you read it I bet that you’ll love it!!

Candy Floss
My book review is called”Candyfloss”, the author is Jacqueline Wilson and this is a fictional chapter book.
This book is about a girl named Flora A.K.A Flossie, her parents are divorced, her mom got married to a man named Steve, and they had a boy named Tim but everyone calls him “Tiger”. On the weekdays she lives with her mom, on the weekend she lives with her dad. Floss’s dad has a café called “Charlie’s café” and he is famous for his chip butties, he mostly had customers that are students. But ever since the school started a healthy foods program, everyone joined, Floss’s dad doesn’t have many customers anymore because his chip butties are fried foods. So her dad is very poor and the letter C on the sign outside his café fell down a long time ago so his café is now called “Harlie’s café”. But once Flossie’s mom decides to move to Australia, Floss tried everything to get her mom not to go to Australia but nothing worked when it was almost time to go to Australia-Sydney, Floss refuse to go with her mom at the very last minute and decides to stay with her dad but her dad have nothing since they’ll have to move out of the café soon.
One day when Floss and her dad were at a local funfair, they saw a candy floss stand, the lady inside was really nice to both Floss and her father, her name is Rose. The three of them- Rose, Floss and dad became really great friends but when Floss found out that her dad and Rose were in love with each other, how will she react to it? Everyday Floss’s life is getting worse, for example: Her best friend Rhiannon doesn’t want to be friends anymore just because she doesn’t have her pretty, red, white and clean bedroom at her mom’s.
How will Floss get through all the changes in her life? What will happen between dad and Rose? You’ll have to read this book to find out!
A read-alike is “Clean Break” also by Jacqueline Wilson. It’s about a girl named Emily, when her parents break up, instead of choosing weather to live with mom or dad, she has to cheer up her little brother and sister.

Freckle Juice
The book Freckle Juice by Judy Blume is about a boy named Andrew and he desperately wants freckles like a girl in his class named Nicky Lane. One day Andrew asked Nicky Lane how she got freckles but she replied “I was born with them.” A girl named Sharon, who was a know it all, told him that she has a recipe for Freckle juice so that he could get freckles like Nicky Lane but for fifty cents only. Andrew paid her fifty cents the next day and he got the recipe which was filled with crazy items like mustard, vinegar and lots more very crazy things. Andrew was so desperate to get freckles that he drank the recipe and after that he felt very, very sick afterwards. Andrew could not go to school without freckles in front of Sharon so Andrew tried to draw freckles on his face but he did it with blue marker. When Andrew goes to school every one was surprised about how his freckles looked so…..
Some of the most memorable moments were when Andrew was positive that the Freckle recipe would work but of course it did not so it left Andrew in total shock! Another very memorable moment was when Andrew asked Nicky Lane how you get freckles like it was something that was so magic. One of the many more memorable moments was when Andrew’s teacher knew that his freckles were not real and gave him a magic freckle remover.
This book is just right for someone who enjoys funny books and likes things that could happen in real life.
My overall recommendation is Excellent because it’s really funny and it makes you enjoy reading and you don’t want to stop either.
A read-alike to this book is Blubber which is also by Judy Blume

Flying Ace
FLYING ACE
BY: Jim Eldridge
My review is about Flying Ace. This book is a nonfiction chapter book.
This book is about a 18 year old boy named Jack Fairfax who decided to join the RFC with his friend Alan. After they joined each time they would go out on a mission they would get a few kills and lose a buddy or two. Then one mission Jack got shot down and survived a 10,000 foot drop and only got a sprained ankle.
The most memorable moment is probably when Jack is doing training and pushes down on the joystick to much and goes into a spin but regains control.
This book is just right for someone who enjoys history, action and adventure.
The overall recommendation for this book is great. I gave this book this recommendation because I really like WWI and WWII. Also I loved the things that happened in the book and how exciting it was.

By: Kate Dicamillo .
My book is about a girl named Opal and her dad moved and Opal’s dad told her to go get food and she found a dog that she named Winn-Dixie. Fanny and Amanda. Otis gave her a job at the pet store so she can buy a collar for Winn-Dixie.
Most memorable moments is when a funny parrot at the pet store went on Winn-Dixie’s head and said “Doggy, Doggy”. And another funny part was when Winn-Dixie ate most of the candy that Miss.Franny gave them and when Opal found he ate most of it he burped then smiled. (Ha, Ha, Ha.)

OVERALL RECOMMENDATION: GREAT!

Mr. Gum and the Power Crystals
My review is about Mr. Gum and the power crystals, by Andy Stanton.
This book is about a girl who walked down to the river and finds Jake (the dog) digging a hole. Polly (the girl) went over to help Jake, they were digging for about 20 min, that’s when they found a bag from 1515. They slowly opened the bag, they dumped out all the soil and dug through it, they found two crystals. The rest of the story is pretty much about Mr.Gum trying to get the crystals.
One of my most memorable moments was when Alan Taylor leaps off Polly’s shoulder and bites Mr. Gum’s nose. My second most memorable moments were the big chase, with Mr. Gum and Polly running through the forest.
This book is just right for someone who enjoys funny books.
OVERALL RECOMMENDATION: GREAT! I gave this book this recommendation because it was a humorous, weird and revolting (as in the characters) book.

Time Warp Trio #4 Your Mother Was A Neanderthal by Jon Sciezka
The book is about a boy that gets a book for his birthday, and the book warps the readers into different times. In this book they get warped into the Stone Age. The only way to get back is to find the book in the other time. One of the most memorable times is when three of the main characters got together to make a two headed monster growing a third head. This book is just right for someone who enjoys humorus books such as Captian Underpants or The Stinky Cheese Man but is ready for a challenge. My overall recommendation is great. I gave this book this recommendation because it is humorous and addictive which is definitely a winning combination. I enjoyed this book because of it’s amazing humor.
By Gregory
Diary Of A Wimpy Kid
My review is about a boy named Greg who receives a diary from his parents. He witnesses many problems and adventures during his school year, luckily he has his journal to tell you everything.
This book is by Jeff Kinney. It is a fictional chapter book.
The most memorable moments were when Greg took a test in his reading/writing class to tell whether he was in the easy reading group or the hard group for reading groups. A week later his class got their books, they didn’t tell them which group you were in, but it was obvious: you were either in the group book Bink Says Boo or book group Einstein as a Child. So you could easily tell if you were in the easy group of the hard group. Another memorable moment was when Greg’s little brother was watching TV and he had to go to school, so he dumped the rest of his cereal in his potty!
This book is just right for someone who enjoys silly books like Captain Underpants. My overall recommendation is excellent! I gave it this recommendation because I LOVE humorous books and I like looking at the little comics/ illustrations. I also liked it because I could relate to Greg a lot.
This book is great and I hope you will read it!
