Diary Of A Wimpy Kid

My review is about a boy named Greg who receives a diary from his parents. He witnesses many problems and adventures during his school year, luckily he has his journal to tell you everything.

This book is by Jeff Kinney. It is a fictional chapter book.

The most memorable moments were when Greg took a test in his reading/writing class to tell whether he was in the easy reading group or the hard group for reading groups. A week later his class got their books, they didn’t tell them which group you were in, but it was obvious: you were either in the group book Bink Says Boo or book group Einstein as a Child. So you could easily tell if you were in the easy group of the hard group. Another memorable moment was when Greg’s little brother was watching TV and he had to go to school, so he dumped the rest of his cereal in his potty!

This book is just right for someone who enjoys silly books like Captain Underpants. My overall recommendation is excellent! I gave it this recommendation because I LOVE humorous books and I like looking at the little comics/ illustrations. I also liked it because I could relate to Greg a lot.

This book is great and I hope you will read it!

Shredderman#2

My book is called Shredderman#2 by Wendelin Van Draanen.

My book is about a boy named Nolan who always gets bullied at school. So one day he says to himself I’ve had enough. Then another day he thought and thought and then he came to a conclusion. I can build a website that shows the bullies in action! My website will be called SHREDDERMAN!!! So after a few months of catching bullies in action Nolan A.K.A  Shredderman finds out there is a tagger in town! Shredderman is striving to catch the tagger but he’s so sly and fast. Then Nolan makes a plan. DAY ONE- MAKE THE TAGGER MAD!!!!! The plan was to email the tagger and tell him only a real tagger would tag Dr. Voss the principal’s car!!! Then Nolan would sneak to school early and hide in yesterday’s leaf bags. He would disguise himself and catch the tagger in action with his secret camera then would post it on the Internet!!

The most funniest moments is when Nolan posts Bubba’s body and changes it into a chicken body!!!!  I also loved it when Nolan cought the tagger in action. My most all time favourite is when Nolan got put onto the leaf truck(since he was in the leaf bag but no one noticed him) and all of a sudden he jumped off the truck while it was moving!!!!

This book is just right for someone who enjoys funny, mysterious and excitingment on every page because the author writes it so good. I recommend this book because you want to keep on reading on and on!!!!!And if you read Shredderman #1 YOU WILL LOVE #2!!!!!!!

Thanks for reading. Hope you read SHREDDERMAN#2 (and #1 if you have not already)!

Dear Dumb Diary(Am i the princess or the frog?)

My book review is called “Dear Dumb Diary (Am I the princess or the frog?)”, by Jamie Kelly and Jim Benton. This is a Fictional Chapter book.

This book is about a girl named Jamie Kelly, she goes to Mackerel Middle School and her best friend is Isabella. One day the cafeteria monitor-Miss Bruntford tasted the school’s meatloaf, and got very sick. So the school got a new cafeteria monitor named –Mr. Prince, also they will not be serving meatloaves anymore. When Jamie first saw Mr. Prince she fell in love with him, but someone else kept sending love notes to Jamie. It’s up to Jamie to find out who!

Some of the funniest moments in the book were:

1. When Jamie’s at the zoo, a 3-year old boy fed a peanut to the back of her head because he thought that her hair was a monkey. That time Jamie knew she has “The World’s Worst Hair”.

2. When Jamie caught her mom trying to force her “MomButt” into a old and tiny miniskirt, her mom told her that she could throw apples at passing cars if she would leave that room.

3. When Jamie combined her head with Mr. Prince’s head together, it kind of creeps me out a bit, but it’s still very funny. :)

I think this book is just right for someone who enjoys: all comedy books, a bit of mystery and “Ellie McDoodle” series.

My overall recommendation for this book is – Excellent because this book is REALLY, REALLY funny and it’s got lots of awesome pictures too! Also it’s a just right book for me! ;)

I think the closest “read-alike” would be the “Ellie McDoodle” series because in that series it’s about a girl who keeps a journal which is kind of like a diary and lots of interesting adventures with Ellie! :)

The Tail of Emily Windsnap

My book is called The Tail of Emily Windsnap by Liz Keller. It is a fictional chapter book.

My book is about a girl named Emily Windsnap.  She is a mermaid. She lives with her mom on a boat. Her mom and dad were married but, her dad was taken away when she was a baby .He was taken away because he married a human and he is a mermaid, now he in mermaid jail. One scary part of the book was when Emily hit her neighbor with a big wooden pole ,  he almost died. A funny part was when Emily met her dad for the first time ever and he was beading a necklace.

This book is just right for someone who likes no pictures , long pages and fairy tales.

If you liked The Little Mermaid as a kid you will love this now.

I gave this book an EXCELLENT recommendation because it was sad, funny and adventures. When she met her dad beading a necklace I imagined my dad beading one.

Reaching for Sun

The book that I read is called Reaching for Sun by Tracie Vaughn Zimmer. It’s a fictional chapter book. This book is about a girl named Josie who has a disability called cerebral palsy where her muscles aren’t as strong so they can’t move kind of like ice. This book shows how Josie stands up and tells everybody she wants to be treated just like everybody else. Josie shows to her mom that she doesn’t need to go to clinics and nobody is very different from her. Josie’s mom is not agreeing with her at all and Josie is not very happy about it.

Some of the most memorable moments are when Josie meet Jordan and became very good friends and their friendship grew. The second most memorable moment was when Josie was forced by her mom to go to a clinic for her disability and Josie said she would go to the clinic even though she would just skip it and go play with Jordan. Another memorable moment was when Jordan Went to science camp for the whole summer and Josie was left all alone because Jordan was her only friend. There were lots of memorable moments but that’s all I can write for now.

This book is just right for someone who enjoys reading others thoughts and likes to read consistently.

My overall recommendation for Reaching for Sun is great because for somebody who likes to be in somebody’s mind it really tells what she is thinking the whole entire time throughout the book. I also think that this book feels like you’re in another world and doing things differently then you usually would in your daily life and everybody needs change and this book is great for it! A read-alike is the Judy Blume series.

Dear Dumb Diary

This book is called Dear Dumb Diary .  The author of the story/diary is Jim Benton. The book is a fictional chapter book. The summary of the story is about a girl named Jamie Kelly. Her mom bought her a new pair of popular jeans. All of a sudden her new pants get a giant hole in them. Jamie thought her pants might be haunted. She also thought her pants made her taste kiwi shampoo to see if it tastes as good as it smells, watch a 20 minute commercial about a chicken rooster and many more things.

A memorable moment is when Jamie used her makeover styles to turn Frankenstein, the wolf man, and a mummy into girls! Another memorable moment is when Jamie’s best friend Isabella turned Margret beautiful because Margret used to eat pencils. EWW!

A person who would like this book is a person who likes lots of comedy, lots of excitement, and a bit of mystery.

My overall recommendation is excellent because its the most funniest, most exciting book I have ever read, and because it has funny pictures and words. I haven’t read Diary of a Wimpy Kid yet but I bet it’s similar.

The Royal Diaries Of Anastasia

This book is called The Royal Diaries Of Anastasia by Kathryn Lasky. It’s a historical fiction chapter book. This book is about the lost duchess Anastasia and how she deals with living in a palace and her father the king of Russia moving away and her brother having a horrible disease. It shows how at the beginning of the book she was very happy but as the book moves on her life gets more and more unhappier.

Some of the most memorable moments were when Anastasia’s brother Alexi got permission to go away with their father even though he has a disease that’s dangerous. It was also memorable when Anastasia and her family were lied to by bad people and taken away.

This book is just right for someone who enjoys history and is curious about what life used to be like for royal people. My overall recommendation for this book is excellent.

I gave it this recommendation because since it’s a diary it shows every move and is very detailed. It also gives you something to think about and to compare to your life now. A read-alike would be the book Marie Antoinette from the royal diaries series.
